Class Project

Not much has changed in 10 years

The Student Success Center

The Class of 2009 Project will provide critical upgrades for the Student Success Center. 

The Student Success Center (known to us as the Writing Lab, Learning Center, Tutoring Center) is an important resource for cadets to help them achieve academic success. Unfortunately, it is in desperate need of improvement.

Our Class Project will fund the renovation of the physical building, as well as the acquisition of updated computers, hardware, and tech resources. Additionally, the Class of 2009 will have a plaque posted at entrance of Thompson Hall in recognition of our contribution to the school. 

We have the opportunity to make a real impact in the everyday lives of current cadets. Your personal investment is a worthwhile gift to cadets who need this resource. Thank you for your support in this endeavor!

What counts towards this goal?

Any charitable contribution to The Citadel Foundation (TCF), TheCitadel Brigadier Foundation (TCBF), or Citadel Alumni Association (CAA). This includes cash, pledges, and legacy gifts. 

The Overall Goal includes donations from our Project Goal.

Ways to give

Cash / Recurring Gifts

Cash and recurring gifts include any outright cash gifts (currency and check, excluding any payments on pledges made before the campaign period). Cash gifts must be made by December 31, 2019.  

Pledge

A pledge is a gift over a designated period of time. Establishing a pledge enables you to make a larger impact by scheduling monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or annual installment payments. Pledges can be paid from now through December 31, 2022 and the total pledge will be counted towards the goal. 

Bequests

A bequest to benefit The Citadel can be included in the body of your will. You may state a specific dollar amount, percentage of the estate, or specific assets to be given to The Citadel Foundation. The class receives credit for the value of the bequest coming through the estate.

Life Insurance

The class receives credit for the face value of a donated policy. If an entity of The Citadel is named as owner and beneficiary, the donor is allowed a deduction for the premiums paid to keep the policy in force, as well as the cash surrender value of the policy or total premiums paid to date; whichever is less*. (Term insurance not accepted)

*In order for the gift to be counted, the policy must be a permanent policy that is
guaranteed to be in force at the donor’s age of 95.

2009 Reunion Tailgate Party

Join us for a tailgate before we march onto the field, AND after half-time! 

Time: 12:00-2:00; Halftime +2 hours

Location: Johnson Hagood Stadium Reunion Class Tailgate Lot

Tailgate Ticket Includes

  • Tent with tables and chairs

  • 4 hours of tailgate

  • Open Bar to include selection of 2 domestics and 1 craft beer, Red Wine, White Wine, sweet tea, lemonade, water.  Bartenders Included.

  • Bar Open for 2 hours before game,  will close at march on and reopen for another 2 hours after half time.

  • Food: Pulled Pork BBQ, Smoked Chicken, Chicken Bog, Green Beans, Mac & Cheese, Baked Beans, Banana Pudding.
